Changelog
By the MapsData team · Last updated
What changed in MapsData, newest first. Small fixes and behind-the-scenes work are left out; this is what you would notice using the product.
October 2026
- New guides and docs: every field in a lead list, choosing business categories, whether the Places API returns emails, cost per lead, leads in the UK, Canada and Australia and lead lists with an AI assistant, all collected in guides.
- Cookie choices: optional analytics and attribution cookies now wait for your consent, and you can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings.
- Safer upgrades during a trial: starting a paid plan before the trial ends now asks you to confirm first.
- AI connector sign-in: the consent screen for connecting an AI assistant was hardened, and MCP tools carry clearer titles.
- API and MCP on every paid plan, including Starter.
- Better lists outside the US: Canadian, UK and Australian searches keep their leads in the region you picked, with improved email filtering and better coverage in Quebec.
- Faster job map while a search runs.
- Late renewals: if a renewal is paid late, your monthly allowance starts fresh from the payment.
- Replies by email: when we answer your feedback, you get an email.
- More business categories, including UK, Canadian and Australian spellings and specialist searches such as third-party logistics and CNC machining.
- Leads page search, and the download button now shows as soon as a job finishes.
- 7-day Starter trial for new accounts (card required, with a reminder before it ends), and Starter can be bought directly.
September 2026
- Public REST API and MCP server for running searches from your own code or an AI assistant. See the API docs.
- Send lists to Google Sheets in your own Google Drive, next to the CSV download.
- New lead delivery: Download and Open in Sheets side by side, Leads with emails or All leads, and Verify right on the job page.
- Wider "similar queries" to find businesses listed under related categories.
- A new home page that walks through a search from start to finish.
- Your lists stay yours: a cancelled account can still download every list it already has.
- Better zip code and suburb coverage in the US, and suburbs you can search by name.
- Cleaner emails: junk and placeholder addresses are filtered out before delivery.
August 2026
- Max emails per company: cap how many addresses one business contributes to a list.
- Sign up with Google straight from the sign-in page.
- Region checks: searches only accept real regions of the country you picked.
July 2026
- MapsData: Hiive Scraper became MapsData, at mapsdata.ai. Accounts and lists carried over unchanged.
- Sign in with Google.
- First guides: how to get leads from Google Maps and whether scraping Google Maps is legal.
